CoViD-19 disease, Romanian health system response to outbreak and economic impact

The pandemic called COVID-19 disease has an exponential course since the first cases were reported showing in 9th of May, 2020, more than 4 million cases of COVID-19. United States and European Council (EC), together with other European Union institutions, were closely monitoring the situation in order to take quick action. Objective: The aim of this article is to analyze the response to COVID 19 pandemic outbreak in term of strategy and money flow of Romanian health system in order to identify the strength and weakness and prepare for other similar provocative challenges. Global and national strategy: United States Government is delivering a comprehensive package of services to support international partners around the world in combatting this disease adding American expertise for global benefit, saving lives by improving international partners abilities to respond to the COVID-19, and reducing secondary impacts. Meanwhile European Union is focused on 6 major coordinates limit the spread of the virus, ensure and provide medical supplies, decrease negative economic impact, support jobs, promoting research and help European citizens to repatriate. Despite all negative elements a proper and relatively quick response of Romanian Public Health System was noticed and the taken measures were harmonized and synchronized with the European coordinates, prioritize initiatives, build an action plan, establish a communication plan, workforce optimization and management strategy. Conclusion: Global shock needs global response, with little or no government interventions, economic costs will be huge.

A Comparative Study of Patients’ Trust in Physicians and Nurses in COVID-19 and Non-COVID19 Wards in a Reference Hospital in Tehran, Iran

Trust in health care professionals is considered as a basis for patients’ care. This study aimed to compare the level of patients' trust in physicians and nurses in both general and COVID-19 wards in a reference hospital in Tehran during the pandemic. This was a cross-sectional descriptive study. The study population comprised patients from Baqiyatallah Hospital in 2022. The data collection tool was the scale of patients’ trust in nurses and the Wake-Forest physician trust scale. Data analysis was performed using SPSS-26 software. The level of patients’ trust in physicians in COVID-19 wards was significantly lower than in Non-COVID-19 wards (P<0.001), but there was no difference between the two groups in the trust of nurses. The lowest level of trust was in the receiving of required information from nurses, which had a lower score compared to other questions in the questionnaire, and the average amount of receiving required information for patients in general wards was significantly lower than that of patients in COVID-19 (P=0.006). Trust in nurses and physicians in both COVID-19 and general wards was optimum. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the medical staff worked tirelessly and despite the difficulties and complications of the pandemic, patients have high trust in physicians and nurses.

A Comprehensive Review of the Factors Affecting the Redefinition of Therapeutic Use in Metropolitan Cities during the Emerging and Re-emerging Pandemics

Resilience refers to the means and ability to deal with adverse conditions. Resilience is defined as the ability of the system to recover easily after disturbances and changes in the system and the ability of the organization to respond quickly to them. The resilient system can withstand environmental pressures so that it can provide optimal performance in critical situations. Resilience in the use of healthcare services is related to reducing vulnerability to shocks caused by natural disasters and increasing adaptive capacity due to improved measures and opportunities. Considering the importance of evaluation, monitoring, and planning to improve user resilience against accidents, spatial evaluation and redefinition of the use of health and medical services to prepare a comprehensive model for measuring the resilience of hospitals against accidents and calamities Naturally, at the top of which is the coronavirus epidemic, it is necessary. The aim of the current study is a comprehensive review of the factors influencing the redefinition of the spatial pattern of therapeutic uses in big cities at the time of the emergence of a pandemic disease with a resilience approach. It is expected that the managers and decision-makers of the country's health field can use the results of the present research for better planning.
